Colson
I just posted a blog on BeliefNet about the death of Charles Colson. You can check it out.
I have been amused by the secular press’ reporting. The emphasis is on Mr. Colson’s transgressions and his ruthless reputation. Then almost as a side note at the end of the obituary they mention his conversion and prison ministry. Boy, have they got that backwards! God doesn’t even remember his sins.
But the press, as my mother would say, has “The pig’s eye view of the pearl.” They can only see the mud.
Are we like that? We long remember a person’s transgressions, holding a grudge, never able to see them through God’s eyes. Do we always label someone by their sin. Like “the woman caught in adultery”. We don’t know her name, just her sin. I am so guilty of that. But God forgets when we ask for forgiveness. “He removes our sin as far as the east is from the west.” Hallelujah! May I be more like Him!
Good message Ruth!

Definitely not somethIng to aspire to nor be proud of but something I, for one, need to work on diligently!!!! Thanks for this today! Hugs to you!
